There were two grass-court ATP 250 events last week in the leadup to Wimbledon, with ATP Tour stars competing in Eastbourne and Mallorca. Taylor Fritz claimed his fourth Eastbourne trophy and Tallon Griekspoor emerged victorious in Mallorca. ATPTour.com looks at the movers of the week in the PIF ATP Rankings as of Monday 30 June.
No. 29 Tallon Griekspoor, +5
The Dutchman dipped outside the Top 50 in the PIF ATP Rankings in February, but has stormed back into the Top 30. Griekspoor climbed five spots this week by winning his first ATP Tour title of the season in Mallorca, where he did not lose a set throughout the week. The champion defeated French lefty Corentin Moutet in the final.
Watch Final Highlights:
No. 54 Joao Fonseca +3 (Career High)
The Brazilian star Joao Fonseca continued his ascent this week to a career-high World No. 54. The 18-year-old reached the second round in Eastbourne, where eventual champion Taylor Fritz needed two days and three tight sets to eliminate the teen.
No. 62 Learner Tien +5 (Career High)
Learner Tien advanced to his first grass-court quarter-final on the ATP Tour when he reached the last eight in Mallorca. The American lefty upset World No. 10 Ben Shelton in the second round in straight sets before falling to eventual finalist Moutet.
No. 68 Hamad Medjedovic +5
The 2023 Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF champion Hamad Medjedovic reached the quarter-finals in Mallorca, his deepest run in a tournament since making the Marseille final in February. The Serbian ousted Nishesh Basavareddy and squeaked by Roman Safiullin in a final-set tie-break before losing to Felix Auger-Aliassime in three sets.
