Theo Arribage and Albano Olivetti are putting together a season to remember. After triumphing in Halle last week, the French pair on Sunday won its fifth ATP Tour title of the season by edging Andre Goransson and Evan King at the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Mallorca Championships.

Arribage and Olivetti, who saved two match points in their opener this week, prevailed 7-6(6),3-6, 11-9 in a one-hour, 44-minute championship match at the grass-court ATP 250. They dropped just six points on serve in the match and saved two of the three break points they faced, according to Infosys ATP Stats.

“We were very close to losing after the first match, and today, too, it was a close match," Olivetti said. The guys played well, but we turned the match in our way and we are very happy. It was a very tough week. The confidence is on our side after our win in Halle, and I think it helped us. “

The French duo began the season by winning ATP 250 titles in Auckland and Montpellier before capturing its first ATP 500 crown in Dallas and second last week in Halle. They are the only team to win five tour-level doubles titles this season, one more than joint-No. 1s in the PIF ATP Doubles Rankings Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten, who have claimed four.

Arribage and Olivetti, who lifted their first tour-level trophy in their first ATP Tour appearance together in Almaty last October, are now 32-13 for the season. The pair is currently seventh in the PIF ATP Live Doubles Teams Rankings, keeping them on course for a debut appearance at the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals.

“That is the goal,” Arribage said. “In the beginning of the year it was my goal and now it is our goal. So I think we need to push more, and if we continue like that, we can be in the Top 8 to play [at the Nitto ATP Finals] at the end of the season.”
